Calm, kid-safe paddling in protected waters with extra guides and life jackets for everyone.
Most watersports operators say they are family friendly and then hand a six-year-old the same board as their father. This tour is built differently: shorter distances, protected water with no swell, two guides instead of one, and tandem boards so small children paddle with a parent rather than alone.
We use the sheltered lagoon side of the coast rather than the open cliffs, which means flat water, a sandy bottom you can stand on almost the whole way, and a beach you can land on within two minutes from any point of the route. Nothing about it feels like a compromise — kids still get caves to paddle into and rocks to jump off, just at a scale that works.
It is genuinely the tour where the parents relax, because they are not the ones doing the worrying.

Land practice
Everyone gets a go on the sand first, kids included. Lifejackets fitted, board pairings sorted, and the rules explained in a way children actually listen to.

Into the lagoon
Paddling in knee-to-waist deep water where anyone who falls in simply stands up. Most children are confident inside fifteen minutes.

Cave and jump rock
A short, wide, well-lit cave to paddle into, then a low ledge to jump off for anyone who wants to. Nobody is made to.
- 1:45 – 2:30
Beach stop
Land on the sand, snacks, swimming, and a break from the boards. This is usually the longest stop of any of our tours, by design.

Paddle back
A short return leg. Tired children, happy parents.
Meeting point
Good Feeling Surf School, Vila do Bispo
Every tour meets at Good Feeling Surf School in Vila do Bispo, where there is free parking, toilets and somewhere to leave your things. From there we drive the short distance to whichever beach the conditions favour that morning — Barranco, Ingrina or Zavial. The exact time and a Google Maps pin come with your booking confirmation. Pick-up and drop-off anywhere between Sagres and Lagos is €5 per person.

What to bring
- Swimwear on under clothes for everyone

Good to know
- Children from age 6 can paddle with an accompanying paying adult. Under-6s can ride tandem on a parent's board in calm conditions — tell us ages when you book.
- Children do not need to be strong swimmers, but should be comfortable in water. Lifejackets are provided and worn.
- Same €60 per person as our standard tours, with under-12s at a reduced rate — ask when booking.
- If conditions are not right for children we will move or refund you rather than run it anyway.
