2. Benagil Cave, Lagoa — The world-famous skylit dome. Smaller window of paddleable conditions but the photo of a lifetime.
3. Praia da Marinha, Lagoa — A 10-minute paddle east of Benagil. Arches, sea stacks and the clearest water on the central Algarve.
4. Cabo de São Vicente / Sagres — Wild Atlantic, dramatic cliffs, far fewer paddlers. Best on no-swell days for confident beginners.
5. Praia da Arrifana, Aljezur — West coast classic with a fortress on the headland. Inside the bay is SUP-friendly when the surf is dropping.
6. Alvor lagoon — The flattest water in the Algarve. Perfect for first-time paddlers, families and yoga SUP.
7. Praia da Falésia, Albufeira — Long ochre cliffs, glassy summer mornings, easy beach launch.
